A former 13-term Republican Congressman from Louisiana, Billy Tauzin was named president and CEO of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) in January 2005. Under his leadership, the industry has partnered with groups such as the Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease, a national, bipartisan coalition of healthcare experts and stakeholders from across the country, to broaden the public’s awareness and understanding of chronic disease.
