Health Care Reform in America
Date: 8/18/2009

U.S. Congressman Vic Snyder (D - Ark.) discusses his views on health care reform before Congress prepares for a critical vote on health care legislation this fall. Snyder said he didn’t believe the so-called “public option” was necessary to acheive reform but that he could vote for a bill that included some sort of public plan. Questioners covered topics ranging from costs and taxes to insurance mandates and coverage related to pre-existing conditions. Prior to joining Congress, Snyder worked as a family practice physician in Central Arkansas for more than 15 years. A former member of the U.S. Marine Corps, he has represented Arkansas’s 2nd Congressional district since 1997.
