The late Vada Sheid of Mountain Home, Ark., was the first woman elected in her own right to the Arkansas House and Arkansas Senate. Over the years her work and stories became legendary. She shares these stories in her autobiography “Nothing Personal, Just Politics.” Sheid passed away just months before her book was to be published. She is remembered as a tireless advocate for her district and constituents.

Family and friends of the late Vada Sheid, the first woman to serve in the Arkansas House and Senate, read from her recently published memoir, “Nothing Personal, Just Politics.” Readers include Sheid’s son and daughter-in-law Richard and Mary Sheid, Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe, former Arkansas State University Board of Trustees Chairperson Chucki Bradbury of Little Rock and Richard Davies of North Little Rock, director of the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism. The event is moderated by Clinton School Dean Skip Rutherford, who wrote the foreword for Sheid’s book.
