Luis Valdivieso became the Ambassador of Peru in the United States on February 17, 2009, after serving as Minister of Economy and Finance of Peru. During his term as Minister of Economy and Finance, he was also the Governor for Peru in the Board of Governors of the World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank, as well Chairman of the Board of the Andean Finance Corporation (CAF). Most of Ambassador Valdivieso's professional career was at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), where he worked for 28 years. Ambassador Valdivieso also taught at Boston University and was an Econometrics Instructor at the Catholic University of Peru. Mr. Valdivieso holds a B.A. in Economics from the Catholic University of Peru, a Ph.D. and a M.A. in Economics from Boston University.
