What is Arkansas Doing to Close the Achievement Gap?
Date: 2/21/2008
Clinton School professor of education policy Dr. Keith Nitta and Hendrix College professor of politics Dr. Jay Barth present a report on the state of Arkansas public education after recent reforms were mandated by the state Supreme Court. “What is Arkansas Doing to Close the Achievement Gap?” assesses whether reforms adopted by the state are likely to close the achievement gap between economically advantaged and disadvantaged students and between white and minority children in the state. It also identifies additional promising steps to close the achievement gap in future years. The report is a collaborative effort of Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families, the Arkansas Public Policy Panel, Hendrix College and the Clinton School of Public Service.
