Richard Holbrooke

A seven-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee, Richard Holbrooke served as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations from 1999-2001 under President Bill Clinton. Previously he served as U.S. Ambassador to Germany, as Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, and as Assistant Secretary of State for European and Canadian Affairs. Holbrooke was also the architect of the Dayton Peace Accords that ended the Bosnian War in 1995. He authored the book To End a War about his experiences.
